The friends I was with didn't want to take the tour with me. What a beautiful home Low lived in and a gorgeous city.Originally posted by Miki_:
Love seeing the US girl scout uniforms, they're so different to the ones we had. Your girls look so pretty in them.
Our girl scouts/boy scouts have their origins in the UK, their founder being Robert Baden-Powell, who started the scouts in 1907. I did a quick google and learned that he was actually once engaged to Juliette Gordon Low. Thought that was quite interesting.

Great album! I was a Blue Bird first then then switched over to Brownies. I stayed in thru Junior Cadet. One of my nieces was a brownie but DD has never been in Scouts. Between soccer, dance and church there is no time. I really wish she was though. I remember scouts very fondly. Your tribute is wonderful. I'm also glad it brought you to AG!
Oh, My God that was like a trip back to memory lane for me, I went all through the Girl Scouts from Dasies to Cadiettes. I miss all the days of being a Girl Scout. Thanls for sharing with us it was very informative and very intresting and educational. I give it
What a great album! You can really tell that you are passionate for Girl Scouts. It's really neat seeing all the changes through the years...and all those patches, Oh My! Way to go for you & your dd, as well as your troop.

Loved the album, Sheila! I'd like to see Bossy Amanda run a cookie booth sale! (Can't help but love that child, you know!) My DD is almost 16 and a senior cadette so the only thing to con them into doing cookie sales is the road trip they get to take, LOL!
